This piece is a reflection on the dozens of people I make brief eye contact with every day, projecting my circumstances and identity constructs onto passersby. Sometimes my emotional state collides with that of a complete stranger, a surreal moment in time where we bear witness to each others existence. The multitude of these moments is overwhelming in an urban environment. They are such a quotidian part of our lives, and they can mean everything, and nothing, simultaneously. I wanted to focus cinematically on this “non-moment”, whereby everything in the film serves this moment, in all its anti-climactic glory.
